At Thunder Grafix, Ltd. we aim to offer our clients personal service and excellent design. The diverse backgrounds of the principals brought them together in the printing and design industry.

This is how it began…
Roberta Poling and Marsha Stepowany started Thunder Grafix, Ltd. in 1992 when their previous employer, a small typesetting/design company, unexpectedly closed their doors. Left without jobs Roberta and Marsha hit the ground running and started Thunder Grafix, Ltd. Very quickly they set up shop to meet the needs of many of their former clients.

Today…
Thunder Grafix, Ltd. has continued into the 21st century as a full-service graphic design firm.

We are a Minority Business Enterprise, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and Small Business Enterprise certified by the Maryland Department of Transportation.

ROBERTA POLING
Roberta graduated from Fairmont State University in West Virginia with a degree in Elementary Education. After a couple of years of teaching, she moved to San Diego, California and worked in advertising at a newspaper and in administration. Upon moving back to West Virginia, she taught math at a juvenile correction facility then moved on to teach Behavior Disorder classes at a middle school. Ready to move on after that experience, she moved to Columbia, Maryland and worked as a typesetter/graphic designer at The Paper Tiger printing company. This eventually led to Roberta and Marsha working together. And, as they say, the rest is history.

Roberta is a diehard baseball fan and can be found watching her beloved Red Sox during the baseball season.

MARSHA STEPOWANY
After graduating from the University of Maryland in College Park with a degree in Advertising Design Marsha began working for a Baltimore City advertising company that did newspaper ads for the various food store giants. She worked for several small printers doing typesetting, design and paste up before joining forces with Roberta.

A life-long Howard County girl, Marsha and her husband like walking Tara and Jolene, their Cardigan Welsh Corgis.
